Facelifts & Makeovers Have Begun

As I mentioned in the previous post, I would be doing major overhauling and makeovers to most of our social media content, websites, blogs, and publishing sites. That time has come.

While presenting a cleaner, clearer, neater, and less cluttered appearance to promote my books I hope to make a better visiting experience for fans and readers of my content material. It will be a slow process, but an important one.

Much of the content in the flagship’s website media group will be archived here on this subordinate blog.

Please be patient. Some of the posts, pages and content to this site will be closed to the public as we rejuvenate our media group. We will be in the ready position for a massive and aggressive publishing experience that has been spearheaded by years of hard, laborious work. We will soon be ready to present this updated experience of publishing adventure to the public.

We will still be blogging and publishing in this platform as well as several others. But some of the posts and pages will be in private status as we archive massive content from multiple platforms and sources.

Some of the content will be password protected. Select individuals will have access to evidence and material of litigation nature for legal processing in civil and criminal matters and for legal presentations, for craft concern or content, manuscript materials for such groups as beta readers, editors, proofreaders, cover designers, social media and writing coaches, quality control consultants and graphic artist assistants and the like. Please DO NOT ask for access of these protected areas of concern as the only way to access them are though invitation only, with purpose and for specific and limited people for limited time.

Some of those password protected materials will be available for craftsmanship of select individuals in a various stages of study, beta review, proofing, or some other reason, such as students in craft study with consultation with writing coaches or for specific reasons to have access to private content that is not yet published or intended for publication.

Too, communication with global rescue teams or SAR units exchanging vital information that is timely and urgent and of which could be delayed using alternative encrypted communication resources. Sharing between teams is enhanced.

The reason I have to mention this is because some of the private material, or password protected material will or could be visible to public viewers in headline nature and could trigger curiosity while most will not be. The reason for that is because those needing access will not need a link, but simply visiting the site of interest. I’m sorry for the inconvenient, but i do not control the technology… just yet.

Explosive shall be the new experience. I’m excited. I hope you will be, too!

I will be posting, and bringing new ideas to the long idled sites in the media-group network.

~A Double Feature~

Now for some relaxation R & R…

In the fall of 1983 I was sitting in a bar in Malta, New York, just outside Saratoga Springs, having a few drinks with my buddy and classmate, a U.S. Navy SEAL on an elite team. He was co-captain of our wrestling team. He was home on an emergency leave. It was not a good time for either of us. We both had losses. Grave sadness. He had more than me. At home and at sea.

It was during Operation Urgent Fury, the U.S. invasion of Grenada.

He lost several members of his team in the predawn hours of a covert operation. They were lost at sea in stormy, turbulent conditions when they jumped from their helicopters off the shore of Grenada with full and heavy combat gear and equipment. They were the first to go into the war zone, their mission was to take down any resistance that could threaten the forces of the incoming invasion. Their bodies were never recovered. Had he not come home for the emergency on the home front he too, might have been lost at sea, never to be recovered.

Sometimes bad things that happen are good things for some people. If one can understand such statement. It is a phenomenon of life.

Clint Eastwood’s Heartbreak Ridge movie gave a fictional side to the story of American military rescue operations to liberate trapped Americans.

Later during Operation Just Cause, and Operation Nifty Package, the 1989-1990 U.S. invasion of Panama the Navy lost four more SEALs with nine injuries in an ambush.

Noriega, a Panamanian political and military leader was eventually captured and brought to the United States for trial.

Hundreds of causalities, military and civilians, occurred during that operation that lasted over a month long to capture Noriega.

Looking ahead to some of the media group series there will be many war stories and military operations told in storytelling fiction and nonfiction. When it comes to the history of war and combat there is never a shortage of storytelling action and adventures.

Back in Malta, in 1983, while sitting at that bar with my SEAL schoolmate, and wrestling co-captain, was the first time I had heard Red, Red Wine version as it was sung by UB40. That was the year they released it, so, it was a brand new song, as it was playing on the jukebox. It remains a favorite of mine till this very day. And, when I hear it, I think back on those good times and bad times. I mourn and rejoice at the same time…. is that possible? I think it is.

One of my all-time favorite artists, Neil Diamond, wrote, performed and recorded Red, Red Wine in 1967. It was the A side of a 45 with Red Rubber Ball, another oldies favorite on Side B.

Now for some real R & R….

A military slideshow of Operation URGENT FURY, Operation Just Cause and Operation Nifty Package are presented below. Enjoy!

United States Invasion of Panama, 1989-1990 was code named Operation Just Cause. The operation was led by 48 U.S. Navy SEALs with three platoons from Team 4, Golf, Echo and Delta. Four U.S. SEALs were lost in ambush attacks with nine others injured. Members from every U.S. military branch were involved in Operation Just Cause with high causalities. Resistance was heavy. The purpose of the invasion was to liberate 35,000 Americans endangered by threats of the Panamanian Dictator, Manuel Noriega, secure American-owned bases, properties and other interests including the Panama Canal, combating drug trafficking and securing human rights. Operation Nifty Package was a United States Delta Force and U.S. Navy SEAL joint operation to capture Panamanian Dictator Manuel Noriega. The operations were all successful. After more than a month of fighting, Noriega was taken into U.S. custody and brought to the United States, tried and convicted.

Strengthen Anti-Human Trafficking Programs

Urge the Senate to reauthorize the Trafficking Victims Protection Act

Freedom happens now –Polaris Project

In partnership with Polaris Project I urge all conscious citizens to join myself, Polaris and all those teams that are combating human trafficking in our cities, in our nation and in our world.  Tim Ballard of Operation Underground Railroad, a commando jump team that rescues victims of human trafficking and slavery, states that in the 21 Century, there are more people enslaved to the evil forces than at anytime in world history.  According to the Global Slave Index, 45.8 million people are enslaved in the world today. Polaris says 20.9 million of those victims are human trafficked into sex slaves and labor slaves.

We must stop this enormous evil of human trafficking and slavery and drive it to the halls of justice where our courts can put these predators of human beings away for a long, long time. Predators who prey on women and children, and men who fall victim and vulnerable. We must all join forces if we are conscious citizens and ensure that no human being is denied their inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by another. We must ensure that no evil force takes away the freedom and independence of any citizen of our nation or of another. We must ensure that no evil predator is preying upon our citizens or citizens of the world. That no human being on this planet is denied their inalienable human rights. We can only ensure that message by standing strong and together in a resounding voice to our government legislators and executive officials that we have zero tolerance for human trafficking and slavery. We can send that message today to our federal Senators to strengthen anti-human trafficking programs. All citizens deserve freedom. No citizen deserves slavery. We must not allow the issues of human trafficking, sexual and labor slavery, human rights violators that kidnap and imprison and sell men, women and children for sexual and labor slaves be less than our priority. We must not.

U.S. Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, has recently spoken out about his will and dedication in combating human trafficking. The U.S. House of Representatives voted in July to reauthorize the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. Now we must suggest to our senators to do the same. Our nation is faced with a lot of decisions that will compete for the dollars from our budget. We must not let our nation’s most precious commodity–our people–be left behind to be victimized by predators and slavemasters.  The Polaris Project reaches out to help those victims of human predators.

Keeli Sorensen, Director of Government Relations and Public Policy at Polaris, has sent supporters notice of the Traffic Victims Protection Act expiring in 2017.  Polaris has formulated easy communication for supporters, advocates and others to join in on our efforts to encourage our senators to likewise reauthorize the Trafficking Victims Protection Act.  To also reaffirm our priorities in our human interests–our people.

Human trafficker combaters and anti-slavery fighters all across the nation unite to direct their senators to reaffirm the Trafficking Victims Protection Act and protect our nations most valuable assets, our people, and especially the children.  Our people deserve justice and justice our people shall be served. Because Polaris put together a superb communication for our senators, I forward them below. Please contact your own senators using the Polaris pre-designed letter I sent my senators or draft your own with similar communication. The next human trafficking victim or slavery target may be someone you know. Act now. It only takes a little bit of your time. Contact your senators and save another human from being trafficked or enslaved.

Today’s e-mail notice 1421 hours 24 August 2017:

Dear Cliff,
This morning, Polaris experienced technology issues that were unfortunately outside of our control. As a result, many of our advocates were unable to take action after receiving the email below.

This issue is so important, we decided to send the message again. The Trafficking Victims Protection Act will expire if the United States Senate fails to act. Urge your senators to strengthen and reauthorize the TVPA today!

Thank you for your patience and support.
– Keeli Sorensen

Earlier e-mail 0733 hours 24 August 2017:

Dear Cliff,
On July 12, the United States House of Representatives voted to reauthorize the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. Now our attention turns toward the Senate.

Act Now: Protect the progress we’ve made over fifteen years. Urge Congress to reauthorize the Trafficking Victims Protection Act.

You’ve seen it in the news, tragic stories of adults and children, victims of human trafficking, transported by semi-trailer in deadly heat. We at Polaris hear similar stories daily at the National Human Trafficking Hotline we operate.

Unfortunately, the criminal networks who exploit people through force, fraud, and coercion for forced labor or commercial sex are becoming more sophisticated in their approaches and are increasing the scope of their activities. There’s never been a more important time to strengthen and reauthorize the TVPA.

Urge the Senate to make reauthorizing the TVPA a priority.

For fifteen years we have made strides in protecting victims of human trafficking. This wouldn’t have been possible without your help and the collaboration of policymakers, service providers, and law enforcement. TVPA is the law that forms the legal foundation of these efforts and must be reauthorized.

If we don’t act, this important law could lapse – resulting in more tragic trafficking stories. Ask the Senate to reauthorize the TVPA today.
Sincerely,

Keeli Sorensen

Reauthorize the Trafficking Victims Protection Act

I urge you to prioritize the fight to end human trafficking by maintaining critical federal programs that combat trafficking and support victims. I ask that you work to support victims and survivors, service providers and law enforcement by advancing a holistic, anti-trafficking response which promotes effective prosecution of traffickers, assistance for victims, and thoughtful prevention efforts.

First and foremost, I urge you to reauthorize the Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA). We have made great strides since the TVPA was first passed into law in 2000, and we need your ongoing leadership with this legislation. In addition, we need to accomplish the following in 2017:

* Prosecution: Because trafficking is currently a low-risk, high-profit business, organized, sophisticated criminal networks have developed the capability to operate both nationally and internationally. Serious prosecution efforts will require that federal agencies have adequate funding to properly investigate and dismantle these large-scale organizations.

* Protection: Victims of human trafficking still need greater protection. Supporting the Trafficking Survivors Relief Act, the SOAR to Health and Wellness Act, and providing funding for the National Human Trafficking Hotline and local service providers enables survivors to get help and stay safe.

* Prevention: In order to prevent human trafficking, we need to support efforts like the Visa Transparency Anti-Trafficking Act, which works to improve data collection methods to understand the scope, size, and systems of modern slavery. More accurate data collection and improving the transparency of temporary visa systems can help us better understand how traffickers are leading people into forced labor or commercial sex against their will.

* Partnerships: We must build stronger cross-border collaboration across North America and beyond to stop traffickers and support survivors. International partnerships between governments and NGOs to share resources, data, and strategies are critical, because a global problem requires a global response.

I won’t back down in the fight against human trafficking, and I urge you to support these efforts as well.

Sincerely,

Cliff Harrison

The fight has just begun. Won’t you join us? We ask for your help. Be on the good team, and sleep better at night. Contact your senators and contribute what you can to the organizations listed on this page and at Sunrise Mountain Publishing that fights human trafficking, slavery, and searches for missing persons, victims of violence, crime and evil predators. In addition to funding anti-human trafficking and anti-slavery missions, your purchase of my books also helps support teams who conducts ground searches and recovery, digging suspected burial sites, and deploying underwater search and recovery for victims of evil and tragedy. Our teams supports rescue, recovery and refuge of victims of evil and tragedy. You can’t be on a better team than that.

America Must Support Kurdish Independence

America must support Kurdish independence. The number one nation on the planet that stands for freedom and independence is the United States of America. America failed the Kurdish people during the Obama injustice. They were largely ignored by the Bush administration.

US says it understands ‘legitimate aspirations’ of people in Iraqi Kurdistan.
State Department Spokeswoman Heather Nauert

I supported the Iraq war, not because of the CIA reports to George Bush concerning the chemicals of mass destructions or what experts call Weapons of Mass Destruction, (WMD), but because of the actual use of WMD against Kurdish people on 16 March 1988, known as the Halabja Chemical Attack or Halabja Massacre.

That is what the American people were told, that the Iraqis used poisonous gas to kill the Kurds, their own people. Or so they were called. That gave reason for a war and the overthrow of a brutal dictator named Saddam Hussein and his ruthless Ba’ath Party.
The Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party.

But that account has been disputed. Or at least questions raised of its authentic value.

He was Central Intelligence Agency’s senior political analyst on Iraq during the Iran-Iraq war, and a professor at the Army War College from 1988 to 2000, Stephen C. Pelletiere writes a different opinion. This article by Stephen C. Pelletiere appeared in the New York Times on 31 January 2003 and was reprinted several times since in other publications.
A War Crime Or An Act of War?
Who really gassed the Kurds?

A different view. Iran must have been using Iraqi helicopters to drop the Iranian bombs.
Halabja_chemical_attack
Iraqi blame Iran, Iran blames Iraq and we’re all confused.

“Iraqi MiG and Mirage aircraft began dropping chemical bombs on Halabja’s residential areas, far from the besieged Iraqi army base on the outskirts of the town.”

“…According to regional Kurdish rebel commanders, Iraqi aircraft, coordinated by helicopters, conducted up to 14 bombings in sorties of seven to eight planes each. Eyewitnesses told of clouds of white, black and then yellow smoke billowing upward and rising as a column about 150 feet (50 m) in the air.”

“…was and still remains the largest chemical weapons attack directed against a civilian-populated area in history.”

Stephen C. Pelletiere has written a lot of articles and books about Iraq, the Kurds and the Middle East. In one book he entitled he calls the Kurds “an unstable element in the Gulf.” Probably if you kick a beehive once too many times you’d call the bees unstable, too. I’m not taking sides with Stephen C. Pelletiere or anyone else that made a living in government paid for by the taxpayers and then sold tons of books and articles afterwards for his own profit. All I know is the one truth most of us can agree upon, especially since we are fresh into a political civil war that may well escalate to actual one: we can trust no one and we can believe no one. Period.

Bush got us into a mess. Obama made the mess much deeper. Trump is meeting all kinds of asinine resistance and NOBODY is trying to solve the problems that has escalated since Bush invaded Iraq and Obama failed to stop Daesh in June of 2014. Obama could have and should have stopped Daesh in Mosul, Iraq when they first showed their face to the world. He failed. He was afraid, just like James Comey was afraid of the man the American people elected. We don’t need leaders who are afraid, we need leaders who will let the experts who know their jobs, do their jobs and bring victory, not shame to our door. Millions of people, mostly innocent men, women and children have been slaughtered and have had every human right denied them because of ignorant politicians.

It is time that course changes. It is unlikely it will happen, though. The Kurds stood pretty much alone in their brave fight against Daesh. They fought with primitive weapons, with almost no help from the Americans. We could have given them powerful weapons and America’s finest soldiers and SEALs to guide them. We failed to. We had no leadership. The Kurds suffered tremendously. Still they fight on. They have been victimized for generations. Yet, they never lose the fight or the will for their well deserved freedom and independence.

The United States State Department may be correct to focus on defeating Daesh, before putting Kurdish independence on the table. But that same state department shouldn’t lose sight that if it weren’t for the Kurds, including large numbers of female warriors, like Rehana who killed over 100 Daesh fighters before being captured and beheaded and savagely disrespected, we’d still be at the beginning, not the end, of eliminating Daesh. Period. Let’s make sure the Kurdish independence is put on the table and a Kurdistan becomes a reality for the Kurdish people.

Nadia Murad is back home. At least for the moment. Visiting. There are a lot of dark memories mixed with remembrance of childhood joy. Joy that ended on 2 August 2014. Her tiny village of Kocho was attacked by Daesh and the Yezidi men were separated from the women. The men were killed. The women sold as sex slaves and human trafficked for Daesh fighters. Nadia escaped and found her way to safety. She has been a strong spokeswoman for Yezidi’s concerns ever since. The long road for this young, brave lady has been a trying one indeed. She will likely continue being a leader for the Kurdish people. Let it be in a land of the free, home of the brave and fully independence somewhere where the Kurdish people can live in peace and harmony with the rest of the world, especially their Arab natives.
